Košice august 22. (TASR) – The Košick Self-Governing Region (KSK) will establish a business with the company Kosit for the production of hydrogen W2H2 KSKEach of the partners will invest 5,000 euros in it and will have a 50 percent share. It was approved by the KSK Board of Directors at Monday's meeting.
I am glad that we have a partner with whom we will produce this green source of energy from the heat generated by the recovery of non-recyclable waste, as well as from photovoltaic sources. INThe region plans to use the produced hydrogen as fuel to fill hydrogen buses in suburban bus transport.
Under ideal conditions, we could thus cover the annual operation of approximately 50 buses," said the chairman of the Košice self-governing region, Rastislav Trnka.
he start of trial operation of hydrogen production in Košice-Barca is planned for 2026. Košice county is counting on the deployment of hydrogen in the long term - it was the first in Slovakia to adopt its own hydrogen strategy, which is a key document for the use of hydrogen technologies. The Košice Region purchased 10 hydrogen bicycles, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Region for the purpose ofcreation of a hydrogen ship prototype using metal hydride storage tanks, is preparing for the introduction of hydrogen buses and has signed a memorandum with the company Kosit a.s. in order to ensure the production and sale of hydrogen buses.
